HSSM encourages the community to bring their furry family members out for this event in Jones Park. HSSM’s Pet Playground will feature tents from several local shelters and rescues with adoptable pets and aims to adopt out at least 100 animals into new loving homes during the inaugural Harbor Fest.

At noon, HSSM’s Harbor Fest Pet Parade will roll and all public are invited to treat their pet like royalty and be part of this great parade.  Early sign up will be is available online and all proceeds will benefit HSSM’s Second Chance Ward—an isolation ward for sick pets in the shelter.

During Harbor Fest, HSSM will also be hosting a $5 microchipping and rabies clinic for all community pets in need of these services.*

*All pets in attendance MUST be on a leash or in a carrier and current on their rabies vaccinations and wearing a current rabies tag as proof. If a rabies vaccination is not current, it can be given at HSSM’s Microchip & Rabies Clinic for $5. Pets must be at least 3 months of age and receive a microchip or be previously microchipped to receive a rabies vaccination at HSSM’s Clinic.

“Rules” for People Bringing Pets!

1) All pets must be current on Rabies vaccinations to attend Harbor Fest and/or participate in the Harbor Fest Pet Parade. A current rabies tag MUST BE WORN by each pet at all times during the Festival and Parade. If your pet is NOT wearing a current Rabies tag, you will be asked to get a $5 Rabies vaccination at HSSM’s on-site Microchip & Rabies Clinic.

2) All pets must remain on leash/in carrier and under your control throughout Harbor Fest and the Harbor Fest Pet Parade.

3) In heat or noticeably ill pets are not to attend Harbor Fest or the Harbor Fest Pet Parade.

4) Aggressive dogs are not permitted at Harbor Fest or in the Harbor Fest Pet Parade.

5) Please, no exotic pets.
